Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you based?

I’m a wedding photographer in Durham, North East England. I love travelling though, so feel free to get in touch if you live a bit further away! I previously lived in Northern Ireland and still take bookings there.

Do you charge for travel?

Amazingly, I try to never charge for travel! As long as I can cover my costs, I’ll include travel anywhere within Europe – it’s always an opportunity to explore and photograph places I’d never get to see otherwise. If you live that bit further away, we can always arrange a phone call or skype meeting to discuss the details.

What is your wedding photography style?

I love to keep things as natural as possible, making the most of all the little details you fill your wedding with. I like to catch all the moments, big and small, in a relaxed, documentary style so that you can relive the best bits of your wedding day and maybe even discover a few you missed. Of course, I do capture the formal and family photos too and we can do as much or as little posing as you like.

How much of my wedding will you cover?

I offer either half-day or full-day coverage. Half-day coverage starts about an hour before the ceremony and ends straight after the speeches.Full-day coverage gives you access to me for as long as you need, from bridal prep in the morning until your first dance (and a little after depending on your schedule). Within the agreed times I’m flexible to photograph whatever you like!

When will I receive my photos?

It usually takes me six-eight weeks to edit all your photos, after which you’ll receive them all in an online gallery, where you can download your high-resolution photos, or share them with family and friends (no watermarks or sneaky extra charges!) If you’re planning to order prints, a photobook or an album, it’s usually a good idea to meet up and look through the sample materials at this point.

How many photos will I receive?

The number is fairly changeable, depending on your schedule for the day. For a half-day package you should expect around 300 photos, and for a full-day package around 450 photos. I process all your photos in high resolution before giving you them all in an online gallery.

Can we get a second photographer?

I’m very happy to bring along another trusted wedding photographer in Durham to cover even more of your day. We can include the men getting ready in the morning and shots of your guests enjoying the afternoon while you’re having your formal photos taken, as well as getting an extra angle on everything that happens. You should expect to pay around £300 for a second photographer, but we’ll confirm that before you book.

Do you offer albums?

Yes! I have partnered with Folio Albums to offer some of the highest quality albums available anywhere in the UK, made with contemporary materials and on-trend colours. I’ll guide you through the process with samples where possible. If an album is too much of an investment for you at the moment, I also offer high-quality photo books and other mementos. You’re always very welcome to come back later and get an album made when you have the funds.

Folio Wedding Albums

How much do you charge?

My prices are competitive, starting at just £895 for bespoke, professional wedding photography, with unlimited consultation and no hidden costs. I also offer some of the best albums and photo books available in the UK at very reasonable prices. Please contact me for a full price list.

Is it really worth the investment?

Wedding photography is a significant investment, but unlike the flowers, cars, suits, venue hire, etc. you have the photos to treasure for many years to come. It’s also important to know that wedding photography is much more than a single day’s work; if you click here you can see the full process I go through to provide your photos.

Are you the best wedding photographer in Durham?

I’d love to be the best wedding photographer in Durham, but that’s not really how it works! You should try to find the best wedding photographer for your wedding; someone whose style matches yours, who is professional and experienced, and someone who can give you the time and information you need. Remember that there’s no one you spend more time with on your wedding day than your photographer, so it’s a good idea to get someone friendly too! My photography is natural, friendly and relaxed; so if that suits you I might just be the best photographer for your wedding!

Can we meet up for a chat over coffee?

Yes, absolutely! I’d love to meet up with you, whatever stage of planning you’re at. Whether you’re ready to book or haven’t even got a date yet and just want to know what wedding photography is all about (or anywhere in-between), I’d be glad to help you out! Likewise, once you’ve booked I offer unlimited consultation, so you can get in touch any time you have a question or want to meet.
